Select Event Group’s Vinyl Manufacturing Department fabricates the vinyl that event and temporary structures depend on — tops, sidewalls, wall panels, and the finishing components that complete an installation. At our Laurel Processing Center, our expert team brings fabrication, finishing, corrections, and quality checks together under one roof. 

What began as an internal support function has become a core capability. The department now produces vinyl for our own clearspan lines, for rental partners, for venues extending their outdoor season, and for large-scale structures that go up where permanent buildings can’t. Every weld and cut is completed to the Select standard before it leaves the building.

What our vinyl team builds

We work in white, clear, and custom-colored vinyl:

• White vinyl clearspan mids — our fastest-moving product. 
• White sidewall and wall panels, built to spec. 
• Clear vinyl or cathedral-style sidewall and panels, for enclosures that keep the view — and the daylight — open.

Where our equipment fits 

Our Miller Weldmaster Moduline system handles a substantial portion of the fabrication process for white vinyl clearspan mids and select white wall panels. It does not produce a finished product on its own — final fabrication and finishing are completed by hand by our team. What the equipment does is take meaningful time out of the build on precisely the components most likely to hold up a clearspan project.

Filling the gap when timelines are tight 

You know the feeling. The plan is set, the site is ready, the schedule is locked — and the vinyl is still weeks out. A top comes in wrong. A panel misses the truck. The manufacturer quotes a lead time that lands after the date you actually need it. 

When vinyl production is outsourced, every revision, correction, and rush request enters someone else’s queue. Lead times become estimates. Accountability gets distributed across companies. 

Because we manufacture in-house, the production schedule is ours to manage — no factory intermediary, no waiting on an outside production calendar. Corrections happen here. Quality is verified by the people responsible for it. And communication stays direct: you speak with the team doing the work.

Custom tops: when vinyl becomes part of the production 

Most of our vinyl work is white, and that is by design. But when a top carries a logo, a color, or a custom design, it stops functioning as infrastructure and becomes part of the production itself — the backdrop in every photograph taken during the event. 

Our team builds custom and branded tops to specification, matching color, layout, and finish to what the event requires. Beyond tops, we produce custom colors and designs across our vinyl products — sidewall, panels, and accessories included — developed around what each client actually needs rather than what happens to be in stock.

Winter prep: extending the outdoor season 

Colder months do not have to mean closing off outdoor space. Custom sidewalls, tops, and enclosure components extend the usable life of patios and outdoor seating well past the point most operators shut them down. 

The work is best planned before the season turns. Getting ahead of it is the difference between being open and being closed. 

Vinyl that goes up when buildings can’t. 

Equipment and materials can’t sit exposed. Our vinyl team builds the tops, walls, and enclosure panels that make weatherproof, lockable storage out of space you already have. When something goes wrong and space is needed fast, that same capability is what puts cover on the ground for emergency and disaster response. One rain event on the wrong delivery costs more than the cover would have. 

That is a manufacturing problem before it is an installation problem, and it is one our department is built to solve. 

Emergency response: cover on the ground fast 

Emergencies do not schedule themselves around production calendars. When a storm, a failure, or a sudden operational need takes space offline, the requirement is immediate: covered, weatherproof, secured square footage on a site that was not designed for it. 

This is where in-house manufacturing matters most. Because we fabricate in our Laurel Processing Center, we are not submitting a rush request to an outside factory and waiting for a slot. Tops, walls, and enclosure panels are built here, to the footprint that actually exists on the ground, and finished by the same team that will answer the phone about them. 

Response deployments are also rarely tidy. Footprints are irregular, access is limited, and the specification changes after the first site walk. Building our own vinyl means a revision is a conversation with our production floor, not a new lead time.
