Graphic Designer - APPLY NOW

Summary of Position:

Select Event Group is a full service event production company with over forty years of experience creating successful events. We have one of the broadest arrays of high quality event rentals including tenting, structure, flooring, fine linens, superior table settings and a complete selection of tables and chairs, with the recent acquisition of a décor division, which offers turn-key event planning and design services.

We are currently hiring a Junior Designer/Graphic Artist.

The primary role of the Junior Designer is to assist the Art Director with production work including photo editing/clipping paths, designing and making edits to in-house sales and marketing materials, preparing files for print production, developing graphics and branding for parties and special events, and maintaining graphics for social media platforms.

 Candidate will exhibit fluency with core graphic design principles (typography, form, color, composition, imagery, etc.), and have the ability to adapt and problem solve within a fast paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design, layout, typography, graphic media, and idea/concept communication in both print and digital mediums.

  • Print projects (marketing collateral, event signage & branding)

 

  • Prepping files for print production
  • Social Media graphics

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Familiar with print production for publications.
  • Ability to work in PC environment
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) a plus

 

Education & Experience:

  • 1-3 years graphic design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts preferred but not required

Senior Event Producer - APPLY NOW

Summary of Position:

Select Event Group contracts with event owners and organizers in the mid-Atlantic region to create custom infrastructure and interior environments that achieve the look, feel and tone that properly reflects our client’s vision for their event. Through our multiple divisions, Select designs, fabricates and produces key elements of the event including tents, structures, flooring, scaffolding, bleacher seating, power and climate control, specialty furniture, graphics, décor, custom fabrication, lighting, sound, as well as all catering related equipment.  Select’s designers and staff truly do Inspire, Design and Create. 

 

Select’s Design & Production Division is seeking a Senior Event Producer who will be responsible for all aspects of event projects –from initial client design consultation through on site production, managing all elements and multiple projects simultaneously. This individual will also be expected to prospect and close new sales opportunities, as well as, maintain current client relationships. A background in design and knowledge of event industry will be essential to anyone applying for this position.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct and consistent communication with clients that promotes the company brand with distinction and impact.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct business prospecting activities as well as follow up on ‘warm’ sales leads.
  • Event design, proposal and contracting to meet individual client needs.
  • Create the creative vision, the look, the feel, and the tone of the event.
  • Work with clients to steer the vision for a brand and ensure the brand presents itself in the best way possible.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in design, advertising and marketing.
  • Communication with back of house in all aspects of event to ensure flawless execution.
  • Project cost estimating and management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current and potential vendors and manage best negotiation.
  • Develop estimates and manage budgets.
  • Research and remain up to date on venues, attending site visits and inspections as needed.

We are currently seeking a Sales Account Manager for our Equipment & Linen Division, supporting our South Team. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking an individual with a successful track record in relationship-based sales, preferably within the event industry. Initially working from our headquarters in Laurel, MD, then working from our future Design Studio in Northern, VA , candidate will be prospecting for and providing customer service to existing and new relationships. Sales or operational experience in the industry is preferred but not required. Key elements to include:

  • Identifying and marketing to prospective clientele, including professionals in catering, hotels, venues, food services, universities, event planning and many other industries
  • Ongoing customer service as a member of a team environment will be a crucial component of this position
  • Strong relationship skills, a passion for providing exceptional service, and a desire to be a meaningful member of a successful team is required
  • Attention to detail is paramount, as is an ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Well qualified candidates have the ability to self-educate, and must have a true desire to learn and develop
  • Having strong communication skills is the most important key to success in this position, specifically providing timely responses to phone calls and emails from clients and coworkers

 We are seeking a New Business Development professional to join our growing business. The executive will focus on the metro DC/Northern Virginia area and will sell the products and services of our Tent & Structure, Design & Production and Flooring divisions.

 Qualifications:

We are looking for an outgoing, competitive and highly relationship oriented professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.  Selected candidate will thrive on identifying, contacting and growing new relationships in the business and hospitality space with special event requirements.

Tent & Structure Division

Assistant Foreman - APPLY NOW

Summary of Position:

Select Event Group is a full service event production company with over forty years of experience creating successful events. We are looking for an Assistant Foreman for the Tent & Structure Division in the Greater Baltimore/Metro DC Markets.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Selected candidates will assist in the planning of projects through completion. In addition to long hours, including nights and weekends, this position will require a desire to learn and work hard.

Qualifications:

  • One to two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Relevant experience may include construction or similar outdoor projects. Specific experience includes installation of temporary structures, flooring and tenting in the event industry.
  • Ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Strong leader capable of managing and motivating others.
  • Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make ones self understood to all Spanish speaking individuals.

Crew Member - APPLY NOW

Summary of Position:

Select Event Group contracts with event owners and organizers in the mid-Atlantic region to create custom infrastructure and interior environments that achieve the look, feel and tone that properly reflects our client’s vision for their event. We are hiring Installers in the Baltimore/DC metro area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this position you will be involved in the construction, temporary building & installation at events.

First and second shifts are available on a full time basis. Overtime work may also be available. Ability to lift 50 lbs, work well with others and independently, and follow directions is required.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Required to pass a DOT physical with drug and alcohol screening.
  • Driver’s license is a plus, but not required.
  • Bilingual preferred but is not a requirement of the position.
  • Preferred candidates should have experience in construction, temporary building installation or event work.
